OKN Launches Inaugural Congressional Luncheon Series on Wednesday, July 20th, on “China and its Attempts to Capture the Pacific Islands”

July 18, 2022, Washington, D.C. –
One Korea Network (OKN) is excited to announce the launch of its inaugural Congressional Luncheon Series on Wednesday, July 20th, titled “China and its Attempts to Capture the Pacific Islands: How the United States, the QUAD, and South Korea Can and Must Respond,” at 2044 Rayburn House Office Building.

The inaugural luncheon will feature two speakers, KCPAC President Grant Newsham, and Cleo Paskal, journalist and author, and Senior Fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies.

The OKN Congressional Luncheon Series is first and foremost aimed at informing and educating Members of Congress, and the wider Washington, D.C. think tank, academic, and media community, with relevant and important topics including national security, alliances, human rights, and other pressing issues in the Indo-Pacific region.

“We are excited to launch our Luncheon Series, with the important topic of China and its foray into the Pacific island nations and attempts to displace American influence in the region,” said Grant Newsham, President of KCPAC. “After two years of COVID interruption, we are looking forward to meeting Members of Congress and staffers through this Luncheon Series to help inform them as they develop policies involving US interests in the Indo-Pacific,” said Newsham.

“We hope that OKN will be a leader among the organizations and think tanks in bringing in top-notch speakers and experts who will engage the Members of Congress and inform them on topics of the utmost importance to the United States,” said Arthur Lee, the DC Regional Director of OKN, and who will also give Opening Remarks at the Luncheon.
