The Confucious Institutes, the hub of Communism, in South Korea must be shut down.

I suggest closing the Confucius Institute, a propaganda organization by the Chinese Communist Party, as soon as possible.

1.

Confucius Institute uses ‘Confucius’ to let one’s guard down and says that they teach the Chinese language and culture, but in real life, they are a communist propaganda organization that spreads a positive image of China under the Communist Party of China and fosters pro-China figures.

It was confirmed in a report by the Canadian, U.S., U.K., and Australian legislatures as well as in a report of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Korea in 2018 that it is also carrying out espionage operations such as collecting information of the country, monitoring and manipulating Chinese students.

2.

From 2004 to the present, they have been teaching about the globally determined cause of the Korean War with a pro-Chinese view that the United States invaded North Korea and China sent troops to help Joseon’s independence at more than 500 Confucius institutes in about 150 countries.

This is not only a distortion of the Korean history and an official disregard for academic truth on campuses around the world, but also is an act of brainwashing that will instill a negative view on the United States, an ally, to future generations, which is a typical tactic of communist deception, infiltration and domination.

This is only an example, but evidence that has infiltrated the spirit of education and students by controlling textbooks, teachers, curriculum, and events in return for giving financial support and using the status of the university to invade the community, has already been investigated and recorded innumerably.

3.

In middle and high schools, the Confucius classroom, which signed an MOU with Confucius Institutes, is singing a song about the Communist Party of China that praises the ‘Red Guards’, which is notorious for massacres of human life.

In their curriculum, college students are involuntarily scrambling to recite a poem praising Mao Zedong, an essential recitation poem for Chinese middle school students, at a poem recitation contest where rewards are offered.

They watch military parades together in the classroom, take a commemorative photograph with a background of the red flag with five stars, and conduct research projects to receive scholarships under the theme given to benchmark China’s economic growth. Officials at Confucius Institutes have not hesitated to conduct self-censorship with the pro-Chinese thoughts in order to maintain relations with China and receive financial support.

4.

However, China is a country in which education expenditure relative to the GDP has not even reached the level of developing countries and receives funds from social media because even their own citizens have not received educational benefits.

The Confucius Institute was established in Korea for the first time in the world, having established with 1 billion won, with annual operating expenses of 100-200 million won as well as accommodation and tuition benefits provided to overseas students. This can enrage even the Chinese people once they are aware of it.

As a result of the failure of the public to recognize this Trojan horse, a large influx of Chinese students who entered Confucius Institutes shook Korean society with [Internet] comments, damaged the hand-written posters of students who clamored against the Hong Kong Security Law, they even requested for an official apology for disregarding the policy of One China and setting up separate booths of Taiwan and Tibet at a global cultural event held at a university.

5.

In June 2019, an independent private court composed mainly of lawyers from the royal family in London, U.K. and the Chinese Court awakened the conscience for justice defining a large-scale organ harvesting that has continued for more than 20 years by the Chinese government, using prisoners of conscience such as Uighur and Falun Gong, as a crime against humanity and urging to keep in mind that all countries related to China have a correlation with the State of Crimes Against Humanity according to the UN Human Rights Council.

Currently, Uighur Gunn is being referred to the International Criminal Court by British lawyers for genocide. The international community is abandoning its trust in China due to successive Hong Kong Security Law revisions, threats to Taiwan and deceptive responses on COVID-19.

6.

Despite all this, the reality that the Korean society is discussing pro-China ‘Community of common destiny’ rather than joining the Clean Network, Economic Prosperity Network (EPN), and Quad 4 countries is not irrelevant to more than 140 Confucius Classrooms and the establishment of Confucius Institute in 22 university campuses and 1 academy that have extended for 16 years from kindergarten to high school.

Now, there has been enough time to grasp the reality of the Confucius Institute, and the Republic of Korea is not such an easy country. Even when the Communist Party of China destroyed thousands of Confucius statues and murdered hundreds of thousands of Confucius students, saying that it was a cultural revolution, Koreans held the National Rite to Confucius and Seung Heon, and valued the five Confucian virtues (Benevolence or human-heartedness, righteousness or justice, courtesy or propriety, wisdom, and faith). And it is a country whose people are armed with anti-communist views to the point that an elementary school student stood firm in his belief against the Communist Party by death.

7.

It has the will to recover the country after losing it for more than 30 years, and it is a country with honesty that 87 out of 100 paper bags left on the subway were returned. It is a country protected by the people whose intellectual ability is proven with the world’s best Intelligence Quotient.

Korea valued the economy enough to accomplish the miracle of the Han River from being extremely poor and opened its door to the Confucius Institute as a part of globalization and attracting international students thinking it was for the Chinese language and cultural education. Nevertheless, it has had the consequences of surrendering our consciousness and infringing the identity of a democratic state as well as the integrity and freedom of academics. Do you think people who have inherited this half-million-year history are foolish enough to see it dominating future generations like this?!

Now the future has reached the point of coexisting with the international community’s public enemy.

Today, in commemoration of the 50-day one-man protest activity of Han Min-ho, the head of the  ‘Oust Confucius Institutes’ campaign, we launch the Citizens for Unveiling Confucius Institute (CUCI) to be united with the Citizens for Investigating Confucius Institutes (CICI), which opened its doors in 2019 to investigate the infiltration of Confucius Institutes into the Korean education system as well as to be allied with joint mission organizations abroad, and we demand three items based on the facts listed above.

1. Each university must be aware of the reality of the Confucius Institute and consider the closure of the Confucius Institute, which undermines academic integrity and creates an identity crisis in a democratic state through pro-Chinese and communist propaganda education.

2. As stated in the 2018 report by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the government should thoroughly investigate the concrete issues that have been known about Confucius Institutes which operate under the guise of language education or cultural exchanges and provide countermeasures.

3. The National Assembly should promptly enact legislation for the closure of Confucius Institutes and for future prevention.

“We recommend the prompt closure of the Confucius Institute, a propaganda organ of the Communist Party of China.”

Press Conference Information

Date & Place: November 24, 2020(Tuesday) 11:00 / In front of the Chinese Embassy in Myeongdong

Host: Citizens for Unveiling Confucius Institutes

1.

Confucius Institute is an institution established by the Chinese Communist Party at universities abroad in order to promote favorable public opinion to the Chinese Communist Party by promoting Confucius, and it is a propaganda and espionage organization that conducts united front tactics. More than 500 of these institutes have been installed in the U.S. and other countries around the world, but their identities have been exposed early on, and they are being shut down mainly in Western societies.

U.S. Secretary of State Pompeo announced in September that he would close all Confucius Institutes in the U.S. by the end of this year.

2.

Since the establishment of the world’s first Confucius Institute in Seoul in 2004, Korea has the largest number of 23 schools in Asia. From Seoul to Jeju Island, there are various locations all over the country.

Confucius Institutes have established a base for universities and brainwashed college students, while running a program called Confucius Classes in nearby elementary, middle and high schools. The aim is to thoroughly conceal the human rights abuses, corruption and dictatorship of the Communist Party of China and instill only favorable images of China. It has been criticized for neglecting and distorting the truth.

3.

Free patriotic citizens of the Republic of Korea have also taken steps to expose the true nature of the Confucius Institute and expel its existence.  The Citizens for Investigating Confucius Institutes (CICI), which was formed in 2019 and has been investigating the true nature and harmful effects of Confucius Institutes, and the Citizen’s Movement Headquarters to expel Confucius Institutes have joined forces to launch the “Citizens for Unveiling Confucius Institute (CUCI),” which is in solidarity with similar overseas institutions.

Today, November 20, 2020, as we hold a press conference to announce this, we ask for the following:

1. Each university must be aware of the true nature of the Confucius Institute and consider the closure of the Confucius Institute, which undermines academic integrity and creates an identity crisis in a democratic state through pro-Chinese and communist propaganda education.

The Confucius Institute has established itself as an educational program to promote the Chinese language and culture worldwide, however, it should be noted that it is an espionage organization started by the Chinese Communist Party to propagandize its beliefs and values. The first institute was established in South Korea and free-thinking citizens are fighting against the spread of Communism through the Confucius Institute in Korean classrooms and universities. The Citizens for Unveiling Confucius Institutes (CUCI) held a press conference outlining and requesting their demands to be met to see that the propaganda education of the CCP comes to an end in South Korea and, eventually, the world.
