(March 10, 2022, Washington, D.C.): KCPAC (Korean Conservative Political Action Conference) participated in CPAC 2022 which was recently held in Orlando, Florida from Feb. 24 to 27.
KCPAC joined CPAC 2022 as a presenting partner this year, its fourth time participating in the world’s biggest conservative gathering.
The theme for this year’s CPAC 2022 was ‘Awake, Not Woke,’ and KCPAC participated by having a large size booth in the exhibition hall and handing out many useful and informative materials on the dangerous H.R. 3446 fake peace bill, and engaging the conference attendees with the important work that KCPAC is doing to fight against socialists, leftists, and pro-North Korea supporters.
KCPAC also hosted a panel session event on Friday the 25th, which drew a standing-room-only audience of more than 150 people on the topic of the Korean Peninsula and why the push for fake peace is
such a dangerous initiative for South Korea and the United States. This panel featured Gordon Chang as moderator, Senator Bill Hagerty (R-TN), Grant Newsham (President of KCPAC), former Ambassador Morse Tan and current Dean of the Law School at Liberty University, and Dr. Sung-Yoon Lee of Tufts University.
In addition, former Ambassador-at-Large for Global Criminal Justice, Morse Tan gave a speech on the main stage at CPAC 2022 on Saturday afternoon, which was well-received, and spoke on the issue of North Korean human rights.
One Korea Network’s (OKN) DC Regional Director, Arthur Lee, also spoke on the opening day of CPAC on Thursday the 24th, about his experience as a North Korean escapee.
KCPAC also hosted former Republic of Korea National Assemblyman Hwang Jin Ha, and retired ROK Army General and KAFSP (Korea-America Freedom & Security Policy) Secretary-General, Chang Kwang Hyung as guests of the KCPAC delegation.
“As one of only four presenting sponsors at CPAC 2022, we are proud to have made an impact among the attendees and beyond, in educating people about the dangers of H.R. 3446 and the broader push by supporters who favor this fake peace on the Korean Peninsula. We look forward to continue working with ACU [American Conservative Union] to raise awareness regarding issues surrounding the Korean Peninsula,” said Grant Newsham, President of KCPAC.
In addition to successfully hosting the packed panel session, and manning a booth which was very popular with the attendees, the KCPAC delegation also held private ‘sidebar’ meetings with over two dozen Members of Congress who attended CPAC 2022 to discuss the issue of HR3446 and advocating for real peace on the Korean Peninsula.
Videos and pictures of the panel session, speeches by Arthur Lee and Amb. Morse Tan, and subtitled presentations by other speakers will be posted on the KCPAC website shortly.
