– On May 22, 2020 the Professors’ Solidarity for Freedom & Justice (PFJ) released the following statement, “The Blue House, the Democratic Party, and the South Korean National Election Committee (NEC) must actively investigate fraud allegations for the recent, April 15th, South Korean National Assembly Election.”
– “If allegations of election fraud are true, from now on , South Korea will become the world of parasites, like Cho Kuk and Yoon Mee-hyang”
– “No matter what Yoon Mee-hyang and Cho Kuk do, they will always win (the election)”
Professors’ Solidarity for Freedom & Justice (PFJ), urged the Blue House, the main opposition Democratic Party and the South Korean National Election Commission (NEC) to actively investigate allegations of election fraud in the April 15 South Korean National Assembly elections.

The PFJ, comprised of 6,094 professors from 377 universities across the country, issued a statement titled “Unless you shake off allegations of election fraud, you can’t stop 100 Yoon Mee-hyangs and 100 Cho Kuks.”
It has been 22 days since the PFJ issued a statement urging the NEC to quickly and clearly explain the irregularities in the April 15 National Assembly Elections (on the basis of the principle of national sovereignty).
The PFJ stated: “It brings shame to our society and makes a mockery of our nation in the international community, that a figure like Yoon Mee-hyang will soon serve as a member of the 21st National Assembly of the Republic of Korea.” The PFJ continued, “It is a problem that this depravity, shameful, and derelict behavior are widely approved of in South Korea. But what is more serious, is how the symbiotic relationship between the ruling party, that shares certain ideological ties, uses this to gains rights and interests in civil groups and established institutions. Many people view this behavior with anxiety and with a sense of crisis. How can these people behave so confidently without shame and simply ignore the conscience of the people?”
“The essence of the crisis is whether incorrect behavior can be appropriately judged or not,” the professors said. They continued, “The behavior of the ruling party, after witnessing last year’s Cho Kuk controversy and the current Yoon Mee-hyang incident, is not the leadership worthy of democratic politics. Cho Kuk and Yoon Mee-hyang arrogantly behave as though they are above the judgement of citizens and crush, like dictators, any dissent that arises.”
The professors continued, Yoon Mee-hyang and Cho Kuk “would have won their elections no matter what they did.” They added, “We hope that this arrogance of the ruling party is not related to the irregularities that are the focus of the National Assembly Election fraud.”
“We show that the Blue House and the Democratic Party are more responsible than anyone else for proving that these fraud allegations are not true,” said the PFJ. “If the government and the ruling party are as arrogant as they are now and embrace this evil, and the NEC, led by the standing committee appointed by the Moon Jae-in administration continues to act like a bridesmaid of the regime, we can only say that we have entered a new stage of South Korean democracy. This stage only seeks to consolidate “distorted justice,” “distorted memory,” and “chain of corruption.”
The professors stressed that there is a lot of evidence and circumstances that cannot be ignored regarding the alleged election fraud. If the regime really thinks about the future and justice for all South Koreans, it should show that the system through elections is working fairly and transparently.
They added, “The NEC should move away from excuses and actively respond to all election fraud allegations, cooperate in preserving evidence, and revise the Public Official Election Act, including abolishing or drastically reducing pre-election voting.”
“The absolute truth is, that absolute power corrupts absolutely,” the PFJ said. “We have a term system, judicial sanctions, and regime change as a democratic system of human nature leading to corruption. Suspicion of election fraud strikes at the core of concern for the system’s function.”
“If the allegations are true, we will not be able to stop the next Yoon Mee-hyang and the future will be a world of parasites,” the professors said. “In that regard, alleged election fraud should be investigated by the Moon administration, the NEC, the National Assembly and civic groups, and we should all take stern responsibility and protect our institutions.”
