How China Took Over While America’s Elite Slept
Since Easter 1989, Korean-Americans have been involved in philanthropic and educational projects in PRC and DPRK. The Yanbian University of Science and Technology and underground house church leadership training classes in the PRC have helped a significant number of people to see free democratic capitalism. Emergency disaster relief has been provided in the northeastern part of the DPRK, where we still have ongoing operations during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In our 30 years of involvement in dealing with both socialist governments, we encountered untold numbers of obstacles and bureaucratic red tape. Our objectives are non-political, purely based on the spontaneous response by volunteers in North America to provide aid and free democratic capitalism education for people who are suffering under totalitarian regimes in both the PRC and the DPRK.
Our foundation was involved in feeding millions of North Korean famine victims both in the DPRK and the PRC from various different bread and soymilk factories. We ran into significant bureaucratic red tape from both regions, even though we were giving unconditional aid to the people who were suffering from malnutrition. Our donors and aid volunteers were able to maintain our projects as a result of maintaining security and anonymity, despite the western media that would like to cover our stories.
Spalding’s book Stealth War, published October 2019, reflects the specifics of our frustrations in dealing with these totalitarian socialist regimes. Spalding’s observations about dealing with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) are highly appropriate and relevant for Americans, as well as joint venture investors dealing with both the CCP and the DPRK.
Although Spalding has had little dealing with the DPRK, there are a lot of commonalities for free democratic capitalists dealing with such a deceptive and manipulative regime with trust. My paper dated October 3 titled “KImilsungology and Its Consequences” is based on the lessons we learned in our 30 years of operations dealing with socialist regimes in northeast Asia, from an American perspective.
Since the War of 1812, America has never been attacked or invaded by outside nations except in two incidents. First in 1941 when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor, and the U.S. government declared war on them, and ultimately dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. When Islamic terrorists destroyed 2 trade towers in Manhattan and attacked the Pentagon in 2001, the U.S. government declared a War on Terrorism which led to ongoing military engagements in Afghanistan and subsequently in Iraq.
In the beginning of 2020, the CCP delivered the COVID-19 virus to North America by way of Europe. It unleashed an epidemic in the U.S. with over 1,200,000 people infected and over 75,000 deaths as of today. These numbers will continue to increase. The Wuhan virus landed in the U.S. just two months ago and the entire U.S. population was caught helplessly with the disastrous Chinese epidemic. Spalding’s subtitle, “How China Took Over While America’s Elite Slept,” has become very highly appropriate to the current virus situation.
Thus, American infrastructure is in a tremendous transition. Trump’s “America First” policies have been the best defense against Chinese attempt to gain control over the U.S. Trump and his administration are actively investigating where, when, and how this virus originated and spread to become a disastrous pandemic. Recently the Australian government is waging a trade war with the CCP. The CCP is attempting to destroy Australia’s infrastructure.
The role of the U.S. as the outstanding peacekeeping superpower of the world is threatened. It is a disaster with a huge number of victims infected and dying. The economy has been paralyzed, with 35 million people unemployed. America needs to rise up as a free democratic capitalist country to maintain its role as a superpower.
Spalding is a patriotic American citizen, professional soldier, and diplomat, writing to appeal to the peace-loving general public in the global community. He warns that there is a dangerous “ideological virus” in China and the CCP has been implementing their strategy to control the global community in the past half century.
It is highly commendable that President Trump set a day aside for Americans to spend time for prayer. President Trump not only declared May 7 as a National Day of Prayer, but he and his wife also personally invited spiritual leaders of the United States to the Rose Garden at the White House to offer prayers for our nation, especially for victims of COVID-19. This event was broadcast live throughout the world.
While the CCP, where the COVID-19 virus originated, still remains uncooperative, victims throughout the world need to raise their voices. Such a pandemic disaster should never be repeated. We need to engage in pleading for help from our almighty God to stop the spread of this virus to innocent victims.
Stealth War not only should be in the hands of English-language readers, but it should be translated into the languages of all the countries suffering from the COVID-19 virus.
In particular, I as a bilingual Korean American would like the content of the book translated into the Korean language, as the CCP has a significant influence and control over both the North and South Korean government bureaucracies. While a majority of the South Korean population is confused and indifferent toward the growing Chinese presence in their midst and their covert control into South Korean infrastructure, the present South Korean government is making an ideological transition from its historic “pro-American stance” to aligning with the CCP of China. This obviously is part of the CCP scheme to control the entire Indo-Pacific Defense Line of northeast Asia.
Robert Spalding’s book gives down-to-earth lessons in dealing with this country which has been our unacknowledged adversary for the last half century.
As we look into Robert Spalding’s straightforward technical research as a professional soldier and diplomat, we see various different cases in which free American society has failed in last half century, from dealing with North Koreans in 1950~53 Korean War.
We need the intervention of our mighty God to help our President Trump, and for all the citizens of the 50 states to unite to recover from this pandemic.
We as Christians leaders need to be more consistent in dealing with our adversaries, realizing that Christianity and communism simply cannot coexist, and the Word of God is the only power to bring about peace and reconciliation by eradicating the ideological pandemic that has been spreading in the 21st century.
Now, the spreading of the COVID-19 virus has taught us lessons to reevaluate and strategize how to defeat our enemy, with a kind of vaccine that would minimize the number of victims and the sacrifices of innocent lives in the new ideological battlefield.
The whole world is gripped with tremendous fear and uncertainty with no sense of direction in this uncontrollable pandemic. Christian leaders need to develop approaches to defeat Satanic enemies with creativity and research in evangelism training of believers, to undertake global outreach to populations living in atheistic socialist societies
